I Put A Pin On It: Tulle Wreath

If you haven't lost many hours scouring Pintrest instead of cleaning your house, then you have no idea what you're missing. My obsession started right around the time my love for blogging dissipated. I would stare at Pintrest drooling over everything, DIY, decor, recipes... You name it, I drooled. I finally got a couple of crafts done that I will slowly get posted.

First up: The one I drooled over the most, aka, tulle wreath.

For those that know me, know that I love working with tulle. It's an inexpensive material that can be used in many projects.

When I stumbled across this photo:

I knew I had to make my own. I had none of those colors BUT I did have colors for a Halloween wreath. I pulled them out: black, lime green, purple, yellow, orange and electric blue. I also had a pumpkin on a hanging that I bought last year for Halloween decor but I wanted something that stood out more so it got a facelift. THEN, I found a lime green flower that Hayley sometimes wears in her hair and voila!

Instant tulle wreath:

(The pumpkin is slightly damaged from use last year but I needed something. It works. It will eventually be replaced. Eventually!)

What do you think? I posted this on Facebook and got 4 immediate orders.

I kinda love it.

I know had this post up for a while but I'm hoping you'll answer a quick question. What size do you cut your tulle strips? I experiments with a Tulle.Christmas wreath last year but could never get the measurements to suit me. Thanks. crmuirhead65@gmail.com

Does anyone know where to get these colors of tulle. I have checked Hobby Lobby and Micheals and they only carried basic colors. Suggestions please.

I just went to Hobby Lobby today and bought these colors. You have to get these colors by the yard. The colors they had on the spool were similiar, but didn't match these perfectly.

I know there have been others that have asked this question but I also need to know how long you measured your tulle. I want to make one but don't want to mess it up by cutting the tulle too short. Thanks.

Just an update, I buy all of my tulle from an online retailer. There are two that I buy from (you can send me an email and I will be happy to give you their information). They have amazing prices and ship quickly.

Second, as for size, it really is trial and error. It depends on how big your wreath is that you are using. I always cut much longer and trim to the size I like.

And third, don't tie around your wreath like you would tutu, it won't stay. Just tie knots.

If I can answer any more questions, comment here or feel free to email me!

I've never made one of these or anything for that matter with tulle. How do I start and what is the process?

Please send me info to where you buy your tulle. I want to compare :)

I like them .. Especially the fall one. I think the flower on the other one looks a little silly. It would look better without it. But your fall one, SOOO BEAUTIFUL!

To make the ends on the halloween one, do you just simply tie smaller tulle on the ends?

How much do you typically sell them for?

Can you give Instructions on how to start this please??

I would like tulle info to order in the USA if available. Shipping from Germany would be too costly. Love your wreath. You did a great job. I too was drooling over the fall one on Pinterest. My house too is suffering greatly thanks to pinterest......lol

I buy a lot of tulle when I'm making bows for baskets and found this website is a great resource. Prices are very cheap, quality is great, and the color assortment is out of this world.

Whats the website?
